Heather Taylor

I am a personal trainer and physiologist that competes for Team GB Age Group in Standard Duathlon. I’m looking forward to going to World Championships this year. I am also a keen triathlete and cyclist, I train twice a day most days of the week this consists of running, cycling and swimming. The chlorine in the pool used to always make my skin blotchy and dry and I would always go to work with awful goggle marks. Regularly running and cycling outside also made my skin very dry. I now use Recovery Phase Swim, which prevents that dry post swim feel, it has also greatly improved the blotchiness and goggle marks and is a must have to my gym kit! During and after rides I now always apply cycle recovery phase to protect my skin through the elements, especially those winds we experience in England! I found my skin has greatly improved.

Andy Brodziac

“ It’s great to finally find a skin product that sorts out the dry skin after swimming, I know its not on every ‘man’s’ mind about moisturising BUT, I get sick of buying products and them not helping, for the amount of time we spend in chlorine. The cycle cream is great also, helping with that cracked feeling in the cold and general FEEL good factor! Thanks Brodie Skin care”

Andy Brodziac

Andy Brodziak practices what he preaches: having competed in the Hawaii Ironman World Championships in 2009 and 2011, he’s coached numerous age group athletes to Sprint, Olympic, Half Ironman and Hawaii World Championships.

Combining a holistic approach with his unique mental strategy, Andy’s focus is on getting the very best out of his triathletes, no matter what level of expertise they begin training from. Benefitting from a Corrective Exercise (CHEK) background, allowing him to tailor his training techniques to better suit the individual needs of his clients, Andy’s focus on nutrition, injury prevention, resting and maximising individual potential makes him perfect for novice and experienced triathletes alike. Andy thrives on taking on athletes who hold down regular jobs and families – he is proud to help people achieve the seemingly impossible, and enjoys nothing more than assisting budding athletes in realising their goals, while ensuring that the training process is as much fun as the rewards.

Andy is a Level 2 BTF coach, who is currently pursuing his Level 3 qualification.

Glasgow 2014: Jamaica’s Yona Knight-Wisdom makes history

‘Hi, I’m Yona, I am 19 years old and I am a diver. My ambition is to become the first ever diver to compete for Jamaica at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro 2016. I have been using Recovery Phase Swim Rehydration Cream to stop the effects of Chlorine on my skin, now it feels great; it stays supple and not dry.’

Yona

Leeds diver Yona Knight-Wisdom tells why he has chosen to represent Jamaica, his father’s native country, at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

The 18-year-old will be the Caribbean nation’s first-ever Commonwealth diving competitor.

Knight-Wisdom was also eligible for England, or his mother’s homeland of Barbados, but last summer made his senior international debut for Jamaica .

It came at the 2013 World Aquatics Championships in Barcelona, but he failed to progress beyond the preliminary round of the one-metre and three-metre springboard events.

Caroline Livesey

‘I am a keen triathlete and this product helps to combat the dry skin that is a part of the training day. I also have very sensitive skin and can have adverse reactions to lots of products. Recovery phase is great because it is natural and unscented, so it doesn’t cause any reactions. I love it.’

Caroline

Bio 2015 is the year I am trying to make the breakthrough from age-grouper to elite. I will be racing long distance triathlon events, attempting to hold down a full time job as a geotechnical engineering design consultant (with www.coffey.com ) and balance a full on training timetable. You can track my progress and adventures on my blog.

Scott Thwaites

During my races which can last as long as 7 hours, my skin is battered by sun, dust, rain and of course sweat. Before using Recovery Phase Cycle Face Cream, my skin was very dry and visibly damaged, often leading to soreness. However, after a month of regularly using the cream, my face feels fresh and free of soreness every day.

Scott Thwaites

Scott Thwaites was born in Steeton, UK in 1990. He grew up in the small village of Burley in Wharfedale, surrounded by the Yorkshire Dales; a great place to experience the outdoors. Growing up he played cricket and football at a competitive level before switching his attention to triathlon. A national title quickly followed and his success in this sphere led him to the sport of cycling. Although his initial interest was in cyclo-cross where he was fortunate to ride for Great Britain in several World Cups, European and World Championships. Scott then switched to XC mountain biking where he won another National title before riding in the Junior World Championships in Australia.

Having decided to concentrate more on road cycling and after some success on the road, predominantly in criterium races, Scott was approached by Endura Racing and signed his first professional contract in 2010. It was a huge step up and also a big motivator to follow his dreams of having a career in professional cycling. He enjoyed 3 years at Endura, travelling all over the world to race with some of the biggest names in cycling. He put the experience gained to good use and his big breakthrough came in 2011 when he won the prestigious Lincoln GP. This was followed by an impressive victory in the National U23 Road Race Championships, before going on to represent Great Britain at the World Championships in Denmark.

In 2013, Scott joined Team NetApp-Endura, resulting in a step up to Pro Continental level. However he coped well with the transition and enjoyed a consistent season, the highlights coming at the Tours of Qinghai Lake (2nd Stage 10) and Britain (8th Stage 4). Scott began his 2014 season brightly with a number of good rides in early Spring, including a couple of podium finishes. Although he narrowly missed out on selection for the Tour de France, he made up for it with a great ride at the Commonwealth Games in August, winning a bronze medal for England in the mens road race. He’ll look to build on that performance next season and remains an exciting British talent for the future.

Recovery Phase Swim Rehydration Cream is fantastic for anyone who swims for sport or exercise. It protects against the effects of chlorine and soothes your dried-out skin straight afterwards. I use Recovery Phase moisturiser every day to protect my skin from the Chlorine in the pool.’

Leeds and Bradford Triathlon Club

Competing in ironman triathlons involves long hours training out on the bike and run in all weathers, as well as hours in the pool, all of which can dry out your skin, leaving it frazzled and weather-beaten. Recovery Phase products both protect and calm my skin, so I can then concentrate on my performance instead.

Eloise Crowley

“Brodie Skin Care has supported me for the past Year and ever since using their products my dry skin on my face has cleared up (the chlorine in the pool and wind whilst out riding was irritating and drying my skin) and keeps it looking and feeling soft, smooth and hydrated all day. I would highly recommend BSC to all athletes regularly training and competing outdoors or swimming. Thank you so much for developing such wonderful skin care products” Eloise Crowley (Elite Triathlete).”

I received a package of Rehydration Cream from the awesome UK based Brodie Skin Care company, that is meant especially for athletes and people with sensitive, dry skin. So basically perfect for me. My face is always full of scratches and small cuts after bjj, because I have very weak skin that breaks from the smallest hit, and bjj really is mostly just getting your face smashed to the floor or by the rough gi of your partner. Yesterday I got a really nasty scratch on the side of my face that was very read and hurt like hell when I showered.

I’m always very picky about what I put on my skin, since most of the products seem to be just a mix of different artificial things, and I rather choose (and pay more for) the products that have real oils and fruit extracts in them. The Recovery Phase moisturizer has Harrogate Spring Water, Rosehip oil, Avocado oil, Primrose oil, Aloe Vera and Shea Butter just to name a few organic, natural ingredients that it is made of. It also has a sweet and fresh green tea scent.

It promises to hydrate, cool, soothe and protect your skin, and that it definitely did. The burning feeling of the scratch faded away in just few minutes after I applied the moisturizer, and my skin felt softer and kind of stronger. It didn’t leave my face greasy and gross but rather glowing and smooth. If you’re an athlete that has to shower all the time or your sport is rough on your skin or you have a supersensitive skin like me, I 100% recommend you to try this. I know a good skin product when I see one 🙂
